SUMMARY:The Infused Products Virtual Conference
DESCRIPTION:This complimentary virtual conference consists of 3 back-to-back webinars\, all on the same day. We will delve into topics such as GMPs\, nano emulsion\, culinary science\, food safety for edibles and more. \nIn a number of states across the country\, edibles\, topicals\, beverages and other infused products are taking up a larger percentage of the market share. They come in all shapes and sizes- from granola bars to lotions\, lubricant and scented candles; manufacturers are infusing a wide variety of products with cannabis\, creating a market that meets a larger consumer demographic. \nDifferent states have different rules when it comes to product safety. Some states require ServSafe training and local health inspections\, while others have more stringent lab testing rules\, require documented GMPs and even a form of certification demonstrating proper food safety protocols. \nState regulations shouldn’t be the reason why infused products manufacturers have robust safety and quality standards\, consumer safety is. Getting ahead of regulations with proactive safety and quality planning can improve a business’s bottom line tremendously. There are a number of tools and tricks cannabis companies can learn from the food industry to streamline their businesses and gain a bigger chunk of the market share.

SUMMARY:Webinar | Restructuring Options in Cannabis: Out-of-Court Workouts
DESCRIPTION:  \nBusinesses looking to reduce or eliminate debts and return to profitability may choose to declare bankruptcy. However\, until federal law changes\, plant-touching and ancillary cannabis businesses cannot access federal bankruptcy courts. \nAs discussed in our recent webinar\, cannabis companies facing insolvency may use state receiverships to restructure an insolvent business. But what does that mean\, and what is the right choice for your business? \nJoin us for a live session on Wednesday\, March 15 at 10 a.m. MT / 12 p.m. ET for a discussion on the practical issues around out-of-court workouts and cannabis companies. \nTopics of discussion include: \n\nWhy care about out-of-court workouts? Understanding the context of the cannabis industry and why a business would consider an out-of-court workout\nBusiness plans moving forward and the need to ensure a path to profitability\nWhat is involved in an out-of-court workout?\nFiduciary duties and personal liability in the context of a business facing financial distress\nInterplay between equity holders and lenders\nRegulatory considerations if lenders become control parties

SUMMARY:2023 Cannabis Legislative Outlook
DESCRIPTION:  \nHosted by CannabizMD Founder/CEO Jacquie Cohen Roth\, MS\, “2023 Legislative Legislative Landscape: Lessons Learned + Looking Foward” is a webinar for all cannabis industry professionals and healthcare providers. A distinguished panel of industry policy and law professionals will discuss recent federal cannabis legislation – what passed and failed in 2022 – and what’s best for new state medical and adult use programs. \nPer the Marijuana Policy Project\, polls show that 68% of Americans support making cannabis use legal and around 90% support allowing medical cannabis\, but lawmakers lag far behind the public. 2022 saw the first stand-alone federal cannabis legislation for cannabis research made into law but the SAFE Banking Act failed. 2022 also saw several new medical cannabis programs and new adult use markets. What’s working and what’s not? \nMissouri and Maryland passed adult use in 2022. What’s the impact on the respective medical programs? Which states are likely to pass adult use in 2023? \nFollowing the discussion\, there will be a Q + A session with webinar attendees and panel members.

SUMMARY:President Biden's Pardons: What It Means for Cannabis & Criminal Justice Reform
DESCRIPTION:On October 6th\, 2022\, President Biden issued a proclamation granting pardons to over 6\,500 people with federal simple possession of marijuana offenses. In an acknowledgment of the fact that the vast majority of cannabis convictions take place on the state level\, President Biden simultaneously encouraged the country’s governors to use their clemency power to issue similar grants. While the President’s executive actions are an unprecedented and important step forward\, there is still much more work ahead to fully redress the harms of cannabis criminalization. \nPlease join the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center and the Last Prisoner Project as we host a panel of experts to discuss how these pardons will affect people with cannabis convictions on their record\, how states could act on the President’s call\, and what implications this may have for the future of cannabis and criminal justice reform in the United States. \nThis event will be presented with automated closed captions. If you wish to request traditional CART services or other accommodations\, please contact Jana Hrdinova by email at hrdinova.1@osu.edu. Requests made at least 10 days in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access\, but the university will make every effort to meet requests received after that date.
