SUMMARY:Intoxicating Hemp Regulations: Where We Are and What’s to Come
DESCRIPTION:The regulation of intoxicating hemp products is a continuing topic of debate in the cannabis industry as it considers regulatory frameworks in various state prohibition and post-prohibition structures. While the FDA continues dragging its feet with developing or enforcing regulations for hemp products\, the hemp industry continues to innovate while consumer demand for hemp products grows. \nState cannabis and hemp stakeholders are debating the appropriate regulatory frameworks for high-THC and synthetically derived hemp products\, which are widely used by consumers living in states that have not legalized adult-use cannabis. While some states have outright banned Delta-8 THC products\, others opted to regulate. \nRegister for a Vicente Sederberg LLP live session on December 15\, 2022 at 11 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. MT / 2 p.m. ET to hear panelists discuss the regulatory approaches in key states including Colorado\, Oregon\, and California\, explore the key policy and product safety considerations at issue\, and share projections for the future of intoxicating hemp regulation at the state and federal leve

SUMMARY:Coastal Cannect-Virtual Catered Cannabis Networking
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nWith New York’s proposed adult-use cannabis regulations released\, and first 36 conditional retail licenses approved\, it’s the perfect time to join us for the virtual cannabis networking group.\n\nIt takes the right team to put together a winning state license application\, and then launch and operate a successful cannabusiness. With video chat removing geographic boundaries\, we’ve started Coastal Cannect\, to help “cannect” experienced parties from mature markets like those on the West Coast\, with applicants and service providers on the East Coast\, to work towards East Coast cannabis licenses and opportunities.\n\n\nEach meeting will feature a brief recap of developments in New York and New Jersey\, and the following features to maximize the ability to make useful connections: \n\nThe names that appear for each of us will include not just our name\, but also our Coast (WC/EC) and a 1-2 word description of our primary role in the industry (e.g. “Jon EC Attorney”).\nThere will be multiple 12-20 min breakout sessions where attendees can join small groups in virtual tables organized by license type in a particular state (e.g. New York Retail Table 1\, New Jersey Cultivation Table 1 etc.).\n\nWe only get one chance to launch the cannabis industries in these East Coast states\, so let’s connect because together we can go higher!

SUMMARY:President Biden's Pardons: What It Means for Cannabis & Criminal Justice Reform
DESCRIPTION:On October 6th\, 2022\, President Biden issued a proclamation granting pardons to over 6\,500 people with federal simple possession of marijuana offenses. In an acknowledgment of the fact that the vast majority of cannabis convictions take place on the state level\, President Biden simultaneously encouraged the country’s governors to use their clemency power to issue similar grants. While the President’s executive actions are an unprecedented and important step forward\, there is still much more work ahead to fully redress the harms of cannabis criminalization. \nPlease join the Drug Enforcement and Policy Center and the Last Prisoner Project as we host a panel of experts to discuss how these pardons will affect people with cannabis convictions on their record\, how states could act on the President’s call\, and what implications this may have for the future of cannabis and criminal justice reform in the United States. \nThis event will be presented with automated closed captions. If you wish to request traditional CART services or other accommodations\, please contact Jana Hrdinova by email at hrdinova.1@osu.edu. Requests made at least 10 days in advance will generally allow us to provide seamless access\, but the university will make every effort to meet requests received after that date.

SUMMARY:10th Annual National Medical Cannabis Unity Conference
DESCRIPTION:ASA was founded in 2002 to give voice to the needs of medical cannabis patients. Over the last 20 years\, ASA has brought together patients\, policy experts\, public health experts\, attorneys\, lobbyists\, scientists\, industry associations\, and medical professionals to create the campaigns\, projects\, and programs that have broken down political\, social\, academic\, and legal barriers across the world! \nWhile the conference will be celebrating how far we have come\, we will also be sharing strategies to overcome the final hurdles to safe access. Currently there are 48 states and 5 territories with some form of access. However\, 13 states only allow low-THC or CBD only\, and 2 states (Idaho and Nebraska) do not allow any form of access. Medical cannabis also remains illegal federally\, keeping these treatments out of reach for millions of Americans. \nCome celebrate with us as we highlight past accomplishments\, discuss current issues that remain\, and look to the future of a world we envision in which patients\, no matter where they live or what condition they have\, will have access to safe and affordable cannabis-based therapeutics.  Let’s continue this journey together!  \nLast years on-line conference is available to watch anytime. Watch Now!

They will share with you what it’s like on the front lines of this ever changing industry.
