SUMMARY:Cannabis in the Metaverse: Real Issues in a Virtual World
DESCRIPTION:In this session speakers will join Belle Borovik\, Horst Counsel/Associate General Counsel and Head of IP at Chia Network Inc.\, to share their knowledge and understanding of Web 3.0\, including: addressing issues central to blockchain and cryptocurrency\, such as securities implications around tokenization and fiat; providing an overview of IP issues related to the Metaverse and NFTs; and discussing clients’ need for ongoing support with the same old issues in this new disruptive space. \nSpecial guest: Evan Horowitz from WeedClub\, will speak to the issues as they pertain to his everyday – the client’s – perspective. \nSteve Schain – steve@smart-counsel.com –  will impart on the masses his knowledge and understanding of the blockchain and cryptocurrency\, including addressing some of the securities issues around tokenization and fiat. SUMMARY:Coastal Cannect-Virtual Catered Cannabis Networking
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\nWith New York’s proposed adult-use cannabis regulations released\, and first 36 conditional retail licenses approved\, it’s the perfect time to join us for the virtual cannabis networking group.\n\nIt takes the right team to put together a winning state license application\, and then launch and operate a successful cannabusiness. With video chat removing geographic boundaries\, we’ve started Coastal Cannect\, to help “cannect” experienced parties from mature markets like those on the West Coast\, with applicants and service providers on the East Coast\, to work towards East Coast cannabis licenses and opportunities.\n\n\nEach meeting will feature a brief recap of developments in New York and New Jersey\, and the following features to maximize the ability to make useful connections: \n\nThe names that appear for each of us will include not just our name\, but also our Coast (WC/EC) and a 1-2 word description of our primary role in the industry (e.g. “Jon EC Attorney”).\nThere will be multiple 12-20 min breakout sessions where attendees can join small groups in virtual tables organized by license type in a particular state (e.g. New York Retail Table 1\, New Jersey Cultivation Table 1 etc.).\n\nWe only get one chance to launch the cannabis industries in these East Coast states\, so let’s connect because together we can go higher!
