DESCRIPTION:Cannabis Corner Series Episode 2: Cannabis History and Practice Across Industries\nThe second episode of the Cannabis Corner Webinar series will provide an in-depth introduction to the history of cannabis use\, policy\, and culture throughout the US as well as an overview of the American cannabis industry. \n\n\n\n\nContinuing Education credit for certified public health professionals (CPH-CE\, 1 hour) may be earned by viewing this webinar. The link to the first session is below. \n\n\n\n\nMeet Our Speaker\nCecilia Oyediran\, JD\, MEd- Deputy Director\, Labor and Employment Law Program at Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations\nAs Deputy Director of ILR’s Labor and Employment Law Program\, Cecilia Oyediran designs curriculum and provides instruction on workplace law to employers and workers\, including social equity participants in NY’s cannabis industry and justice-involved individuals. In her previous position\, Cecilia provided legal guidance and support to clients in the legal cannabis industry\, specializing in matters related to licensing\, regulatory compliance\, and other related issues. Cecilia further expanded her legal expertise by gaining valuable in-house experience as Corporate Counsel at a publicly traded multistate company. In this role\, she leveraged her legal acumen to provide comprehensive counsel and support to the company in the areas of commercial transactions\, labor/employment\, compliance\, and real estate\, navigating the complex legal landscape of the cannabis industry and ensuring compliance with regulations across multiple jurisdictions. \nCecilia serves as Chair of the Cannabis Law Section of the New York State Bar Association and is a frequent speaker and panelist on a range of issues related to state cannabis legalization\, social equity\, and corporate law. She also volunteers her time to mentor students and young professionals. \nCecilia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University\, a Master’s in Education from Harvard University\, and a law degree from Stanford Law School.
